Technobiophilia fits my topic very well, my topic is to explore the role of technology in helping people return to nature, This book’s author didn’t think that leaving the Internet is the only way to walk into nature, it can also be a part of the way for people to feel the nature.
At the beginning, the author emphasised the importance of contact with relaxation to people’s lives through some theories, and then showed some cases of people returning to nature ((Mainly about three camps of Internet technicians) and the birth of communities and resting places in the virtual world, which proves its positive effects and development history. Then she proved the authenticity of the virtual world and its increasingly important significance in people’s lives, and proved through many aspects that people have begun to fully participate in the era of mixed Internet and reality. In the end she once again emphasised the rest(theory of attention restoration), and provides a variety of ways as references from indoor, outdoor and Internet perspectives.
This book has two main points inspired me. The first one is that she provided the ART method. In previous projects, I repeatedly tried to let people be affected by the natural elements in the living environment, but I ignored how Let these content attract people autonomously or passively, while ART’s approach emphasises the necessity of attraction. In this part, she explained a lot of the connection between active attention and passive attention and intervals. In my opinion, active attention can actually be used as a good inducement to attract people to relax. At the same time, she said that the main reason why the computer runs slowly is not because it processes a single complex file, but processes multiple files at the same time. I think this can also be reflected in people, and it is better to let rest and contact with nature become a part of people’s lives, which does not necessarily require a mandatory plan, but will be simpler and more effective to let everything happen naturally.
The second point is that the Internet itself is a part of nature. This point of view actually proved to a certain extent that it is not necessary to truly walk into nature to better solve the psychological problems caused by work fatigue. The Internet and the various indoor methods also Relative help can be provided, but the author still uses the previous pages to explain the real help to people by walking into nature. This is undeniable that it still has a strong leadership position at the present time, so how to use the current technology to combine the indoor, outdoor and Internet is a good direction for thinking.
There are many opinions and cases in the article that are consistent with the content of the research I have done before. The most impressive one is the case of izen garden. The app in this case tries to guide people to straighten the universe link anytime, anywhere and naturally in a portable way. I have analysed the same portable app Pokémon Go before, the two use different ways to link the natural and virtual worlds. However, I then investigated similar software in izen garden and saw that its instructions were vague, and after guiding there would be a lot of pages for the promotion of expensive products( such as their exclusive headset), the terrible user experience made me realise the importance of user-friendliness and the pure purpose of the popularity of a product.
To conclude, there are many cases and content in this book that are worthy of my continued study. I think I will search for more cases and analyse them based on my own experience.
