I referenced the article:

The field of my investigation is about the influence of narrative and communication design on self-communication and reflection in anxious state, while the article focuses on narrative and meditation, which has a lot of closeness to my project. Among them, 3.5.5 talks about the conflict with the future,

3.5.5 Conflict with the future

There is a conflict in the form of concern about an event in the future. Since it has not happened, it is a conflict focused on suffering, and not on the pain that is a present ailment.

This point provides good support for my future and science fiction ideas. My use of the future perspective comes from the theory of speculative design because speculative design mentions future issues and thinking from the future perspective in some parts. And 3.5 .5 is the meaning of the future perspective from my specific problem. The problem is not the present, so if I want everyone to pay attention to it and map the future, I may need to refer to some science fiction and futurology here.

Futurology Part

I have learned some futuristic content in the previous courses. I looked through the previous lectures, which mentioned three reasons people study the future, curiosity, predicting danger, and criticizing the present. I think my project fits this setting very well, but it is not enough for curiosity and exploration. I used to think about unclearly revealing the background of the story in the future, but when I realized that people would be more curious about the future, I should emphasize the future setting instead.

Page 125 to 142 of this book mentions the inspiration of a utopian future vision for modern times and some unforeseen problems its over-idealism may cause. My project focuses on the issue of future, but it is not a dystopia, but prevention of some future situations. There is no perfect future, but we can try to find a balance. There is also an introduction to the enlightenment and prediction of futurology in Encyclopedia Britannica.

Transmedia

Regarding the transmedia narrative part, I found that people are more studying its commercial value and fully connected with fan culture and the market. It is generally believed that a transmedia narrative will inspire fans and audiences to write new stories. In fact, I think This is an excellent interaction, but based on the background of my story, it is difficult for everyone to think more divergently about the story itself. The necessity of this point remains to be discussed.

But at the same time, I also found that transmedia narratives will strengthen people’s sense of participation in the project. People will have a more profound memory of the options selected during the project, which can be very good with the previous research. Combine. The audiovisual immersion that video can bring is different from the flipping and pen recording experience of paper media. Fusion will be an excellent attempt.

Narrative

The narrative itself is actually the core of my project, and my project itself is about cognition. For this I refer to Narrative theory and Cognitive sciences.

It mentioned the transformation of internal narrative and external narrative. Internal narrative refers to dreams, inner activities, etc., while movie conversations are external narratives. When people write down their inner feelings in a diary, internal changes in to exteranl. I haven’t thought about it before. In fact, the externalization of the internal narrative is also mentioned in narrative therapy. But this book mentions that this kind of transformation can be continuous. This is a very delicate metacognitive process.

The Death of the Author

I agree with Roland Bart’s theory, but cross-media narration can better convey the author’s original intention through continuous interaction and the transformation of internal and external narratives. At least readers will not appear opposite to the author’s interpretation., But this remains to be verified .

But in any case, from the perspective of narrative therapy, doctors and patients solve problems through communication through a shared narration process. My project will also be a process of co-narrative, which should better convey the author’s meaning to the audience.

After the research, lead to the final name of the project: How can transmedia narrative design provoke remote teleworkers to have more self-awareness and thought about stress and anxiety
